Opel / Vauxhall Insignia has won European car of the year 2008 award with just one point over Ford Fiesta. The board choosing car of the year consider many criterias when they are voting for a car (which explains why cars with a bit of luxury in them never appears in the list!) and Insignia did well in most of them as it received 20 first place votes out of 59 compared to 19 received by the Fiesta. Now this is good news for GM!
