Much to the delight of its fans, Shelby unveiled the latest generation of the legendary GT350 in form of a concept based on the 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0 at the opening night of Barrett-Jackson Auction. This simply awesome car is a the result of cooperation between Shelby American, a division of Shelby International, and companies like Ford Racing, Goodyear, Borla, Cragar and Baer.

“In 1964, Ford Motor Company asked Shelby American to turn their secretary’s car into a race winner to help them sell Mustangs,” said Carroll Shelby, founder of Shelby American. “Our Shelby GT350 ruled its class at the track and was feared by GM and Chrysler owners on the street. Enthusiasts have anticipated the GT350’s return since it went out of production in 1970. Now my band of hot rodders has created a car worthy of the name.”

As mentioned the new GT350 is based on the new and hot Mustang 5.0 with its magnificent V8 engine. But when the standard car ha around 412 hp, the GT350 comes with a supercharger which helps it to achieve more than 500 hp. It also comes with stiffened chassis and suspension for the sake of better handling.

The suspension was upgraded with new Ford Racing springs, struts, sway bars and adjustable caster/camber plates. Meanwhile Baer engineers make sure that the car has enough stopping power by giving it a powerful package with 6 piston kit in the front, as well as 14″ ERADISPEED rotors in the rear with cooling ducts for all four corners. The car is also fitted with lightweight Cragar 19-inch wheels and super sticky Goodyear tires.

Already it’s become an extremely desirable car but that’s not the end! Shelby also gives the car a truly good looking body kit with a new front fascia, tail light trim, front splitter, rear deck lid filler panel and rear fascia, as well as functional hood and side rockers, and of course the most important feature, lots of Shelby badges! Inside, the car comes with a unique serial number and a very cool  A-pillar with a fuel pressure, oil pressure and boost gauge.

And the price of this fantastic package is $33,995, not including the price of the base car but still, worth it all the way!
