Remember this Bugatti Type 22 Brescia that was recovered from Lake Maggiore in Switzerland last year?! This car has spent more than 70 years under the water, so as you see in the pictures it is just a pile of rust. But a European bidder at Bonhams retromobile sales in Paris just paid €260,500 for it! Representing the Peter Mullin Collection in California, they are going to put this car in the museum in its present condition. After all restoring this thing almost means rebuilding it from scratch!
I’m glad to hear they will be leaving it as is. It’s like art now. If a restoration was done on this, it would mean replacing practically all the car, and you would have more of a replica instead.
Can they do the same thing to the idiot who crashed the veyron into a lake? (Do it to his car, and yes I know it was pulled out.)
