You might be already familiar with the Brabus Vanish, a one-off machine based on the Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series built for a wealthy Arab. Now the German tuner has released the details of this package which they call T65-RS, and make it available for everyone who owns a SL65 BS! To describe this car in brief, we have to say it is very powerful, but equally pointless.

The power-crazed engineers of Brabus set about the car’s twin-turbo V12 engine first of all. They’ve installed BRABUS high-tech twin turbo system that includes two special exhaust manifolds with integrated turbine housings and high-performance turbochargers. Then they added four huge intercoolers to the system, and a custom-made stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts. Final touches include installing a new ECU and using high-tech ARAL lubricants.

The new intercoolers are located beneath that really ugly but purposely designed scoop in the hood. When they are done with the engine, the power has gone up from 670 hp to a simply colossal 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW. But the most astonishing number about it is the torque which is a staggering 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft). God uses less torque to spin the Earth around! The astonishing thing is that this powerplant fully complies with EURO IV emission rules!

So they had to limit it to only 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft), otherwise this engine would generate its own gravity zone. But even this limited power is enough to take you from zero to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, to 200 km/h in 9.8 seconds, and up to a top speed of 330 km/h. They had to limit the Vmax as well, to 320 km/h!

Although the looks of the SL Vanish remains pretty much standard, well they couldn’t make it more showy anyway, but the interior is re-trimmed. The owners can tailor all the details here, in the first one for example, Mr.customer went for a classic black leather and alcanatara upholstery with red stitches. Stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated logo and the speedometer that sports the car’s name were also custom-made for this car’s owner.
