Camaro ZL1 To Get Automatic Transmission Option

2012 chevrolet camaro zl1 at Camaro ZL1 To Get Automatic Transmission Option

Sources from inside Oshawa Plant where the new Camaro ZL1 is being put together have confirmed the car will get an Automatic option.

Although driving a well-sorted car with 500+ hp is always more fun with a manual ‘box, but muscle cars also work well with an Automatic. There are no details on this unit yet and we don’t know if it’s an old-school auto or a fancy new tiptronic paddle-shifter thing. Either way, it’s a nice option, specially for the Americans who generally hate stick!

Other great features to be offered for the ZL1 is the Corvette ZR1’s Performance Traction Management, so you also get a Launch Control system to impress your friends.

The production of the Camaro ZL1 Coupe will begin in early 2012. There’s no official words on the convertible yet.
