Hyundai CEO Kim Choon-ho revealed his company’s plans to introduce new versions of two of their most popular models, Sonata and Genesis. The current Sonata was launched in 2010, and it’s still too young for a facelift. So that’s planned for 2014. But Genesis sedan, that’s getting a bit old now and will get a major makeover as soon as next year.

It’s only the sedan version of Genesis scheduled for plastic surgery. If you are waiting for a new Genesis Coupe, don’t hold you breath. The 2013 Coupe which is currently on sale won’t be changed for couple of years.

Given Hyundai’s recent history, you can’t really predict where they are heading next and what the new models would be like. Remember the old Sonata? The model that replaced it was 110 percent different. So we have to wait and see what those Korean have in mind for the new Genesis and Sonata.
