On the occasion of AMG’s 45th birthday, and the launch of the new Mercedes SL65 AMG, the company decided to releases 45 units of the car with  “45th ANNIVERSARY” and special features. These cars come in a new and very exclusive matt color called the designo magno graphite, garnished with high-gloss chrome applications. The pictures can’t judge the visual appeal of such color, you have to see it in person.

The anniversary edition SL65 also features the carbon package, in which genuine carbon fiber adorns cross strut in the front apron, the exterior mirrors and the spoiler lip, as well as the engine cover.

As for the other notable features, you get the AMG sports exhaust system which provides for a characteristic engine sound. The outer surround of the twin tailpipe comes in black with chrome plating, while the inner insert is finished in high-gloss chrome. The AMG multi-spoke forged wheels painted in titanium grey with high-sheen rim flange and matt finish round are wrapped in tyres in size 255/35 R 19 at the front and 285/30 R 20 at the rear.

There’s no change in the performance of the car. It has the same 630hp V12 engine as the normal 2013 SL65 models.

The interior is modified however, with distinctive upholstery featuring the AMG-specific V12 layout with a diamond pattern adorns both the electrically adjustable AMG sports seats and the door centre panels. It also comes with AMG Performance steering wheel with AMG logo in its bottom bezel and a two-tone rim in titanium grey/ginger beige. There is also a badge on the ashtray cover bearing the logo “45th ANNIVERSARY – # OF 45”.
