They call her the Queen of the ‘Ring, and as cheesy as it sounds, it is completely true. Sabine Schmitz is the most famous Nurburgring expert ans has been for years. She first came to our attention when she said to Jeremy Clarkson “I’ll zo zat lap time in a van!” on Top Gear. Now Chrysler provided her with a car that kinda drives like a van, the new Jeep Cherokee SRT8.

So Sabine took the mighty Jeep around the ‘Ring and banged in a lap time of 8:49, which isn’t particularity brilliant even by high-performance SUV standards. A BMW X6M or a Merc ML63 is way faster, for example. But that is the best the car could deliver. You can hear it in the video flexing and jittering, like it’s disintegrating.

The SRT8 might have 465 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque, big tires and stiff suspension, but it’s no match for the European rivals.
