Abarth decided the best venue for unveiling the new and ultra-exclusive 695 Maserati Edition is the 2012 Mille Miglia. Known as the  “the most beautiful race in the world” Mille Miglia sounds like the perfect place to reveal a retro-modern Italian city car that celebrates another great Italian brand, Maserati.

The car is designed based on shared value of both brands. It is based on the Abarth 500C and gets the powerful 1.4 Turbo T-Jet 16v enginewith 180 HP and the electrically operated manual Abarth Competizione gearbox with steering wheel controls. The car’s also fitted with a variable back-pressure “dual mode” exhaust with hexagonal tailpipes to look and sound like a little Maserati.

Other Maserati-inspired details is the 17-inch “Neptune” design wheels. Inside them you find the  Brembo 305 mm brake discs with grey fixed four-piston calipers, and above them, Koni shock absorbers.

On top of all this the 695 comes with a special three-layer Pontevecchio Bordeaux paintwork, complemented with grey fabric roof.

The attention to details in this car is better seen inside the cabin, where seats upholstered entirely in sand beige leather, with containment strips featuring single-layer padding, sporty but elegant and comfortable at the same time, and stylish details such as the number “695? heat-printed on the headrest. Matte grey carbon trimming, black leather steering wheel and a top-notch JBL audio system are among the other fine details.

Abarth 695 Maserati Edition is limited to 499 units. Like the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari, it is expected to sell out rather quickly.
