Real-Life Need For Speed : 2013 Shelby GT500 vs Cop Cars

2013 Ford Shelby GT500 vs Cop Cars1 at Real Life Need For Speed : 2013 Shelby GT500 vs Cop Cars

Well, sort of real-life. You see, Ford gave a new Shelby GT500 to Motortrend for a review. But seeing as there’s still an embargo on it, they cannot show us the actual review of the car. So they came up with this game to keep us amused until then. They pit the new GT500 against a 2013 Ford Police Interceptor and a 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit police car. It’s a fictional pursuit needless to say, but you do get to see the new GT500 in action. That makes this video worth watching.

Some may find the plot lame, some may find it interesting.

One thing that we can’t stop thinking about watching this video, and of course Jay Leno’s review, is the way this Shelby moves. Maybe it’s the video’s fault, but it doesn’t seem to us like a 662-hp, fire-breathing monster. It looks kinda heavy and hefty. It delivers the drama you expect from a muscle car, but we doubt its performance on the race track. It’d be very embarrassing if the less-powerful Camaro ZL1 turned out to be faster around, say, the Nurburgring.
