Now that Porsche Macan crossover is officially confirmed and is on its way for 2013 launch, designers and rendering experts can let their minds roam free and imagine what this baby Cayenne would look like. Chances are it’ll look like a shrunk Cayenne, as if you put the Cayenne in a copier machine and select 60 percent. After all, Porsche designers are famous for being incredibly lazy in coming up with new shapes.

Here’s a rendering (from PS-Garage) that does exactly that. They took a Cayenne, trimmed some of its fat, and arrive at the Macan.Well, that’s what the most recent spyshots suggest.

The thing is, Porsche proved with the new Boxster they are actually determined to revamp the design of their products and make prettier cars. The new sports car is a fantastic looking thing. We hope it will also be the case with the Macan. There’s no doubt it will be brilliant technically, but it’s going to look like this, they shouldn’t bother, really.

The Macan is expected to get an all-new twin-turbo V6 engine with 370 hp in its range-topping model.
