The new, enhanced McLaren Mp4-12C will be making its moving debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in the hands of the 2009 Formula 1 world champion Jensen Button. Meanwhile McLaren GT – the motorsport arm of McLaren Automotive – will unveil a McLaren 12C GT3 race car wrapped in the British flag to show their support of the ‘GREAT’ campaign launched this year by the Prime Minister.

That’s cool, but the spotlight is on the enhanced 12C, the car that is supposed to address the issues with the current model regarding its feel and sense of speed. The enhancement is available to all sold MP4s as a free upgrade, and adds an extra 25 horsepower (up to 625 hp). It also includes some modifications to the car’s throttle and gearshifts for a more engaging experience.

There are some styling upgrades available as well, including a striking Volcano Yellow paint finish, exclusive new interior trim comprising high quality Semi-Aniline perforated Leather and Alcantara, and a new Diamond Cut finish available for multiple wheel designs.

McLaren will also have some high-profile guests from the world of entertainment, who will be enjoying a passenger ride in the new MP4 as it goes up the Goodwood hill. The GREAT GT3 car will also be active in Batch 3 of the Hill programme on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Goodwood Festival of Speed.
