SEMA Female Mustang at SEMA Female Mustang Explained by Designer

This is Jennifer Seely, and she’s the designer of the winning concept for Ford’s Mustang Design and Built by Women competition, which will be made at this year’s SEMA show. Well, we say designer, but she’s more like a decorator who gave the Mustang some very nice details to express what a feminine version of the car should look like. In this interview she talks you through the details of her work and the inspirations behind it.

The ‘High Gear’ Mustang features copper-colored wheels, mirrors caps and grille, and a luxurious interior. It is apparently inspired by jewelry, couture clothing and architecture and the interesting bit is, it doesn’t really look girlish at all. That is probably why people voted for this design, because it is the manliest of the three proposals!

Seely and some female partners will apply the High Gear design on a Mustang at the 2012 SEMA.
