Thanks to the new BMW M5’s turbocharged engine, many of the car’s owners are going to be looking for aftermarket exhausts to make their super saloon sounds nice. The turbos might help with power and efficiency, but they also kill most of the engine noise, and that’s not good in a performance car. One of the brands everybody will be checking out for M5 exhausts is Akrapovic, and joy of joys they just released a demo video of their system!

The system does make a huge difference in the M5’s vocal performance. It’s still not as savage and brutal as the old V10-powered M5, but better than the standard car anyway. Not only it enhances the sound, Akra’s exhaust system is also 12 kg lighter than the stock unit, and adds 10 horsepower to the output of the engine. The sound they make might not be legal everywhere though.
