McLaren’s Special Operations unit is keeping busy these days. After making the McLaren X-1 for a filthy rich customer, a leaked brochure reveals their Project Alpha – a special edition of the MP4-12C fitted with a couple of extras that are supposed to make the car more exciting and enticing. The Alpha is reportedly ordered by McLaren Chicago and is limited to six units.

While the Alpha 12C gets no performance upgrades – although they do receive the 2013 update that boosts the power to 620 horsepower – the visual upgrades are pretty substantial. The Alpha treatment on the outside include fender louvers, gloss black accents on the splitter, roof, and rear deck, and carbon fiber accents. The Alpha will be available in white, gray and range.  As for the interior, leaked brochure pictures reveal Alcantara and even more carbon fiber trims.

There’s no details on the price of this special 12Cs, but seeing as they are built to order by MSO, we’re guessing they’re frighteningly expensive.
