Type R at New Honda Civic Type R Coming In 2015

You probably thought it’s gone, didn’t you. But Honda Civic Type R will be back in the European market by 2015, and it’s going to be one helluva car. The new generation of the renowned hot hatch is poised to the fastest front-wheel-drive car around the Nurburgring, says the boss of Honda while outlining the company’s new five-year plan.

The new Type R will be developed using Honda’s experience at World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). It is specifically developed for the European market and, according to Honda, it will set new standards in performance and handling.

The rest of Honda’s plans include many hybrid cars, a compact SUV, and a fuel cell car as a follow up to the Clarity FCX – to be introduced to Japan, USA and Europe.

There will be three new hybrid systems and each system will possess unique characteristics and their deployment will reflect varying customer needs. The first one is aimed at duel economy, the second one is a two-motor system for a powerful mid-size sedan, and the third one is a 3-motor hybrid system – the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) that will focus on driving performance.

And don’t forget there is the new Honda NSX super car. The future seems quite bright for Honda.
