As outlandish as it may sound comparing a brilliant, modern, high-tech car with one from the pages of prehistory, there are some remarkable similarities between the Porsche 911 and Morgan Plus 8. They are both sports cars designed for driving fun, they have roughly the same price tag, and they both look the same today as they did when they were first launched 300 years ago.

So AutoExpress decided to take them both to the race track and set about finding which is a better sports car.

The Morgan is certainly charismatic, but no sane person would say no to all the advantages of a new Porsche 991 and spend the same money on a car with a chassis made out of wood.
