‘City’ is the latest edition of Kia Picanto 3-door from the ‘Originals’ collection, and it’s launching in the United Kingdom from today. The Originals series add not only more functional items to the car, they also come with a couple of fashion features to enhance the appeal of this little Kia in the eyes of trendy customers.

On the outside, Picanto City comes with signature red grille, 14” alloy wheels, chrome door handles, heated door mirrors and front fog lights, and you also get some new colors including Blaze Red or Bright Silver.

The high-spec car benefits from cloth upholstery, ample storage for personal items and a leather trimmed steering wheel with audio controls inside the cabin, while coming as standard with equipment such as ambient LED lighting and a “Hollywood” style vanity mirror with three-stage illumination sequence, Bluetooth connectivity, and reversing sensors.

As for the engine, if you care, Picanto City has got the three-cylinder Kappa 1.0 MPI engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It is a fairly gutless engine, but it manages to average 67 mpg, and emits no more than 99 g/km CO2. So it is exempt from London congestion charge.

Starting at £10,245, Kia Picanto City sounds like good value for money, considering the kit you get. In addition to what was mentioned above, the car also gets Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management and Hill Assist Control, as well as Cornering Brake Control. It is also a NCAP’s 5-star car.
