Targa Tasmania is Australia’s most important motoring event, on the par with F1 Grand Prix, and possibly one of the best road rallies in the world. It’s a five day driving tour of the magnificent Tasmanian roads, including many of the closed-road Targa stages. It is brilliant. And it’s even better if you are taking part in a genuine sports car like a Porsche.

Here’s some of the highlights of the Porsche Driving Experience tour at Targa Tasmania, and watching it we can’t help but envy every single one of the participants:

 As a prelude, participants took to Symmons Plains Raceway for hot laps in a Targa competition car, as well as their own Porsche. For the Tour itself, experienced Porsche group leaders guided drivers through the closed road-stages, assuring a ‘spirited’ and exciting experience with the Prologue day at George Town followed by five days of Targa stages across the breadth of Tasmania’s serpentine roads in the north, east and west.

And when the day comes to an end and the dust settles, it’s time for gourmet food and fine wine. Fantastic event.
