HondaJet at HondaJet Heads Into Production

HondaJet is not the name of a new car or bike the Japanese brand has made. No, it is literally a jet – an actual, flying, business jet! It is a production of Honda Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of American Honda Motor Company, and according to its makers it is the most advanced light business jet aircraft, in the world.

In just over a year Honda turned this jet from a prototype into a production model. They went through a great deal of various flight, systems and structural tests, including crew seat crash tests, speedbrake testing, ultimate load tests, EASA windshield bird strike testing, wind tunnel icing tests and night lighting testing.

This being a Honda it might not be the prettiest or fastest jet there is, but you can be sure its is very safe and extremely reliable. It will also offer good value for money!

They invested heavily in the facilities and simulation technologies during the development phase, so they had little to worry about when it was time for real world FAA-conforming tests. A few more of those in full production trim, and the HondaJet will be ready to launch.

Even in the air Honda is worried about fuel efficiency. The HondaJet is powered by two highly fuel-efficient GE Honda HF120 turbofan jet engines, with best in class performance and consumption.

In terms of technology features, the jet is equipped with the most sophisticated glass flight deck available in any light business jet, a Honda-customized Garmin G3000 next-generation all-glass avionics system composed of three 14-inch landscape-format displays and dual touch-screen controllers.
