Audi is the next auto maker to offer an exclusive edition of their most cherished product for China. The R8 China Edition is a special version of the super car for the old country based on the V10 model, featuring unique styling details inside and out.

What’s interesting is the fact that it is not the new 2013 R8, but the old model. So one might think Audi is using this trick to sell 99 units of the old car they have left to the Chinese for a healthy premium over the normal price.

To make the car feel special, however, Audi has fitted it with new carbon fiber aero parts such as a front spoiler lip and winglets, a GT-like rear spoiler, and rear diffuser. The R8’s famous side blades re also finished in a different color than the exterior. Speaking of which, you can have the Malibu Blue or Suzuka Grey, with contrasting side blades. The 19-inch wheels are finished in gloss black.

Inside the cabin you will find a nice blend of leather and Alcantara on the seats, dashboard and door panels, as well as an Alcantara steering wheel. Body-colored trim pieces and a numbered plaque on the top of the gear lever are also included.

Performance-wise, it’s the standard R8 V10, which means it has 525 hp and does 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
