Now that the LFA supercar’s file is closed, Lexus has time to improve their futuristic technologies further in order to keep up with the game. And they’ve gone right to the end of the table, prepping new autonomous technology to be shown for the first time at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show.

They haven’t spilled the beans yet on their new system, but judging by this teaser video they just released, Lexus autonomous vehicles are still a long way away from being actually usable on the road. With this technology Lexus is entering a field currently dominated by Google. Other car makers have had a go at it, but their efforts are nothing compared to what the Internet giant has achieved in recent years.

Still, you never know what these clever Japanese are up to. Let’s wait and see what they have in store.
