The new season of Tuned show on DRIVE channel kicks off with something special. Matt Farah goes to Chuckwalla Raceway to check out what can be described as the ultimate tuning job for the Scion FR-S. It’s built by VCMC for Canada’s Tuner Challenge competition, and they’ve basically turned it into a turbocharged track car. But as Matt points out, the essence of FR-S is still there. They haven’t ruined the car.
Even though VCMC has changes the suspension settings and put bigger wheels and tires on the car, the sweet handling and perfect steering feel of the standard car have been maintained. That is just about perfect: having the feel of the standard FR-S with an extra 150 horsepower to play with.
Wonder what a 350 horsepower road-going Scion FR-S would be like… pretty awesome we reckon!
