The new Dodge Durango suffered from an early leak, but they managed to save face with a proper unveiling event at the New York Auto Show. The 2014 model has a lot going for it in terms of new features and technologies, but to be honest we’re a bit disappointed to see it still looks pretty much the same as the old one.

There are some nice details in the way this car looks, though. The new mesh grille, the LED lights, and the new racetrack taillights, plus the new sport wheels, are among them. They have put a lot more effort into revising the interior, as it gets a new dashboard with a 5- or 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system.

The steering wheel, gear lever, and the center consoles all have been revised too, and you can now even order an optional Blu-ray entertainment system with two 9-inch displays for the rear seats. You also get some high-end features, including heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats and accent stitching.

The 2014 Durango can be had with either a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine paired with the new standard eight-speed transmission – developing 290 horsepower – or a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 with 360 horsepower. The V8 features an Eco Mode with cylinder deactivation system.

2014 Dodge Durango will go on sale towards the end of the year.
