Acura NSX Unveiling 1 545x363 at Honda NSX Available for Pre Order in the UK

Even though the new Honda/Acura NSX supercar isn’t due until 2015, already, and in response to the unprecedented demand, the UK branch of the Japanese company has opened a pre-order bank for it. You can save your spot to buy an NSX when is out right now for a £5,000 deposit, presumably refundable.

The first generation NSX was also in such high demand in the UK back in 1990 that they secured 25 pre-orders a year ahead of the car’s launch. The new car is expected to score way more sales than that.

Unveiled at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show as a concept, the beautiful NSX quickly won the hearts of the fans, and that convinced Honda to put it into production. The car is a very advanced, very sophisticated hybrid, powered by a mid-mounted, direct-injected V6 engine mated to Honda’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system, complete with two electric motors.

Thanks to a new system that can manage positive and negative torque applied to the front wheels during cornering, the NSX is said to deliver handling performance unmatched by previous AWD systems. It will blow Nissan GT-R’s clever AWD system right out of the water.

Phil Crossman, Managing Director, Honda (UK), commented; “We are really pleased with the interest we’ve already seen for the new NSX. We are still two years away from the launch of the car and yet we’ve received over 20 deposits and that’s before we’ve even announced prices or seen the final production car. With this process in place we are confident demand will remain strong and early hand raisers can now visit any Honda dealership in the UK and place a deposit.
