The latest model by the world’s number one luxury car maker makes its regional debut in the world’s number one car market. It’s the new Bentley Continental Flying Spur being introduced at the Shanghai Motor Show in company of the flagship Mulsanne and the new GT Speed.

Last year Bentley enjoyed its best financial year ever, and China played a major role in that accounting for a 23 percent growth. Bentley established an official importer at the start of 2013, and will open 12 new dealer locations by May this year, with plans for 45 dealerships covering all key cities in Greater China to be in place by 2015.

The new Flying Spur is differentiated over the Continental GT, on which it is based, with a heavily revised design and exclusive features. The luxury sedan gets a chiseled rear-end design that give it a unique character, and it benefits from high-end equipment including mobile connectivity including Wi-Fi, a Rear Seat Entertainment suite and a new bespoke hand-held Touch Screen Remote which allows rear-cabin occupants to control an extensive range of features from the comfort of their seat. An eight-channel, eight-speaker audio system with Balanced Mode Radiators provide high quality sound clarity, with the 1100W Naim for Bentley premium system available as an option.

The car s powered by a 616bhp version of the 6.0-litre, twin turbo W12 engine, coupled to a ZF eight-speed transmission, and does 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. Top speed if over 200 mph.
