That’s right, Volvo finally decided to make the S60 Polestar. But before you get too excited we have to point out that it is nowhere near as hot as the first concept, and it is currently a limited edition for Australia only. So unless you are prepared to move there, and you can live with 350 horsepower, forget about it.

That said, 350 horsepower is still a lot for a compact sedan. The Straight-six turbo engine also makes a whopping 500 Nm of torque, which translates into a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds and limited top speed of 250 km/h. What’s more, because the car is four-wheel-drive, you can enjoy its performance whenever you want, wherever you want.

Visually, the car benefits from a subtle Polestar body kit with front spoiler, and rear diffuser and spoiler, as well as specially-designed 19-inch grey wheels. The wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport 235/40 R19 tires, and behind them you find large ventilated Brembo brake discs.

Inside the cabin the Polestar touch adds a bespoke sport steering wheel and gear lever, as well as sport trim pieces and a couple of unique badges. You also get unique door sills to let the passengers know they are getting into something  very special.

So all in all not as exciting as the concept version, and certainly not an M3 killer, but a nice and well-rounded package.
