Chevrolet marks the start of production of 2014 Corvette Stingray with a limited Premiere edition. Unveiled at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, this special Stingray is limited to 500 units, and it is based on the range-topping 3LT coupe model.

Pricing for this model is yet to be revealed, but it will certainly be dearer than the standard version. These limited launch editions is a cunning way for car makers to make a few extra bucks . Mercedes-Benz is an expert in this field with their Edition 1 models, and now Chevy is trying to use this trick.

The Stingray Premiere Edition comes with some extra garnish you really don’t need. Visual features include Laguna Blue Metallic paint job, clear-finish carbon fiber roof, and chrome wheels, Stingray hood stripes, and Stingray sill plates. Inside the cabin you get Brownstone suede and carbon fiber trimming, as well as unique floor mats and a limited edition plaque with the car’s number.

The Premiere Edition is fitted with the Z51 Performance Package by default, which means this 460 horsepower sports car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.
