General Motors is finally letting the journalists to sample the new Corvette Stingray; a car they are particularly proud of because of the depth of its engineering, and the effort they’ve put in improving the whole thing over the previous generation. They never claimed it directly, but the Stingray will give the Porsche 911 a good run for its money.

So let’s go for a ride with the guys from MotorTrend and check out the Stingray in action. Will it live up to the expectations? Let’s see:

This particular Stingray is of course fitted with the Z51 Performance Package that makes a real difference in the way it performs. Compared to the normal models, the Z51 comes with an aero kit, sport suspension, revised gearing, larger wheels and brakes, and an electronic limited-slip differential. The car goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, and that puts it in the category as cars like the Ferrari 458 Italia, which costs four times as much.

The new Corvette C7 Stingray is an amazing car. The performance, the looks, the quality, they are all top-notch. But the most amazing fact of all is the extremely reasonable price. How can GM offers this car with all it has to offer for so little?!
