Honda released a bunch of official spyshots of the new Civic Tourer, which goes on sale in the UK in early 2014. The purpose of this releases was to announce a new world first feature that is built into the Civic Tourer, and that is the Rear Adaptive Damper system.

This is the first time this system is used for the rear suspension. The idea is to enhance stability and comfort under the varying load and driving conditions that the Civic Tourer is likely to experience. Just like any other adaptive damper system, this one offers three driver-selectable settings of comfort, normal and dynamic.

The new Civic Tourer is being developed in Europe and it is designed to cope with the harshest and most diverse driving conditions the continent can throw at it – hence the idea for rear adaptive dampers.

To be built in Honda’s UK manufacturing facility in Swindon, the 2014 Civic Tourer will also boast distinctive styling, advanced technology features, and, if the teaser pictures are to be believed, a very large boot.
