We have more comic book-related news for you from the floors of 2013 Comic-Con in San Diego. After Hyundai and their zombie-killing machine, Ford is now presenting their take on a superhero car with the F-150 “Crimefighter”, inspired by the original Batmobile.

Designed and built by Galpin Auto Sports based on a 2012 Ford F-150, the Crimefighter features a body kit modeled on George Barris’ car, a tuxedo black paint job and Ferrari red accents. The unique truck is powered by a standard Ford 5.0 liter V8 engine.

The original Batmobile, based on a a Ford Futura concept car, was auctioned earlier this year for $4.2 million. This one won’t cost that much, but prepare to pay a healthy premium over a standard F-150 if you fancy one.

Oh yes, you can buy this car. Galpin Auto Sports will be more than happy to build one for you, or convert your existing F-150 into a Crimefighter. Problem is, there aren’t any 10-year old F-150 owners. They are mostly middle-aged Texans with real revolvers not BB guns!
