Silverstone Auctions has come up with a fantastic offering for the fans of the classic cars. At their Classic Sale on Saturday 27th July they will be present a 1958 Jaguar XK150 3.4 ‘S’ Roadster with only 500 miles on the clock. The car is virtually brand new.

Before you go grab your check book though, let us elaborate a bit on why this XK has such low mileage. The car was originally bought by a Mr JJ Dolce of Salt Lake City, Utah. Dolce was a fan of fast cars and he raced them quite often. And the XK was the fastest production car in the world back then.

Only a few days after taking delivery of his Jag, Dolce takes it to the Bonneville Speed Trial in 1959, and crashes it! The barrel rolled car then sits in his garage for the next 40 years, until someone decides to restore it. The restoration project lasted nine years and was only completed in 2009.

So yes, while this XK only has 500 miles o the clock, it’s been pretty much wrecked once. Still, the auctioneers expect it to fetch between £175,000 to £195,000.

Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: “This is the most amazing XK150 that Silverstone Auctions has ever seen. Not only is it in a superb condition thanks to a painstaking restoration project, but it also has a fantastic and fascinating story to tell. Also, with just 500 miles on the clock, this has surely got to be one of the lowest mileage cars of its type in existence, and we’re delighted to offer it at the Silverstone Classic Sale.”
