Goodwood festival goers this year will be treated with the UK debut of the new SEAT Leon Cup race car, as it devours the famous hill with its ferocious power. The good-looking race car will be driven by former SEAT WTCC driver Jordi Gené.

In its third year of participation in the Goodwood Festival of Speed, SEAT is also bringing he new Ibiza Trophy race car, as well as a raft of production models including the brand new Leon SC, the Leon five-door, the Ibiza Cupra, the Toledo and the Mii.

The Leon Cup remains the most interesting feature though, as it is going to be quite an event when it unleashes its 330 PS and 340 Nm output via a six-speed ‘box on the front wheels. The lightweight body equipped with a racing aerodynamic kit, and the bespoke chassis, suspension, brake, and wheels will make sure that every one of those horses are used to achieve maximum performance.

The Leon Cup racer is prepared for a wide range of racing series worldwide. Priced at €70,000, it is one of the most affordable touring race cars in the world.

Amongst the road-going models, the new Leon SC is worth a look at. It will launch in the UK later this month with petrol engines ranging from a 1.2 TSI with 105 PS to a 1.8 TSI with 180 PS, and diesels from a 1.6 TDI with 105 PS to a 2.0 TDI with 184 PS. Prices range from £15,370 to £22,075.
