Dodge Durngo has never been an easy car to like. But with the new 2014 model and all it has to offer, Chrysler hopes that it will appeal to the customer’s rational side and attract them to the car. After all, you can’t find many 7-Seater SUVs out there that starts from under $30K.

Boasting a $3,500 added value over outgoing 2013, the new Durango starts at $29,795, and for that you get, well, Frankenstein-like looks, seven seats, a couple of good powertrains, and a long list of standard equipment.

Each 2014 Durango comes as standard with eight-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters, Uconnect Bluetooth, 5-inch Uconnect Touch Screen and 7-inch customizable gauge cluster, signature Dodge brand LED racetrack taillamps and standard three-row, seven passenger seating.

Available engines include the brilliant Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine with 290 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque as the standard unit – a 295 hp version of the same unit fitted with sport exhausts is fitted to the Rallye and Citadel models – and a 5.7-liter HEMI V8360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque.

he 2014 Dodge Durango SXT with the Rallye package has a starting U.S. MSRP of $32,990, while the V8-powered Durango Limited – which comes with 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, power sunroof, power rear liftgate, premium 3D navigation and premium Alpine audio system – starts at $35,995.

You also get the V8 engine with the R/T model, which features a unique sport-tuned suspension, unique performance tuned exhaust, 20-inch performance tires with 20-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels, and a 20 mm lower ride height. It is the high-performance version, and costs from $38,995.

Finally we have the super deluxe Citadel version, which starts at $40,995 and is fully loaded with features, including: rich, perforated Nappa leather, heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats available in Black, Black/Light Frost or Black/Tan. Other standard features include: the new Uconnect Access 8.4-inch touchscreen with voice command navigation and live streaming internet radio, remote start, unique 20-inch polished aluminum wheels and a unique grille with chrome surround and chrome “Cross-Hex” texture, power sunroof, automatic high-beam headlamps, rain-sensitive front wipers, power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, power liftgate, and…
