C7 Corvette Stingray Massive Burnout 600x337 at Corvette Stingray Dyno and Burnout Footage

Attention Corvette fans! We got a couple of videos of the new Corvette Stingray here that will no doubt make your day. One is all about facts and figures, as the Stingray is strapped to a dyno machine, which is like a lie detector for cars. The next is a test of the Stingray’s immaturity factor: Burnouts. Lots of them.

In fact, let’s begin with the fun stuff, and join Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire as he demolishes a pair of rear tires on a lovely blue C7 Corvette Stingray:

And now let’s see what kind of power the C7’s LT1 V8 engine makes that results in such awesome burnouts, taking into account the drivetrain loss, and the fact that this Corvette Stingray is fitted with the Z51 Performance Pack. Over to the guys at Edmunds:

That 411 horsepower at the wheels may seem like a far cry from the claimed 460 horsepower the ‘Vette’s engine is supposed to make. But actually it is superb. You see, the C7 is a rear-drive car, and the drivetrain loss in such cars is severe. This engine does indeed make 460 hp at the crank, but it is the wheel horsepower that matters.
