Even though the new Fiesta ST is not particularly fast or powerful compared to its main rivals, the car has been such a hit with customers that Ford announced they are increasing the production by 15 percent to keep up. They are getting double the expected number of orders.

The hot hatch-loving Britain accounts for a large part of Fiesta’s sales, as one third of all orders placed across Europe come from the UK. The ST enjoyed a very warm welcome from UK motoring press and benefited from very positive reviews as a direct result of its perfect blend of style, performance, practicality, and above all, driving fun.

As mentioned, the Fiesta ST is less powerful than most of the competitors in this class, but it is the best and most fun to drive. What’s more, the Ford is considerably cheaper than the rivals. Ford acknowledges the role of media in the ST’s success, mentioning the car’s appearance on BBC Top Gear in their press release, and quoting Jeremy Clarkson saying: “I honestly haven’t driven a car as surprising or as likeable as this for a very long while.”

The Fiesta ST is powered by a 180 PS 1.EcoBoost petrol engine which takes it from 0 to 62mph in 6.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 139mph. If that’s not enough for you, there is already a Mountune engine upgrade available that boosts the output to 212bhp for £599. The most popular colors for the Fiesta ST are Pearlescent Molten Orange and Spirit Blue metallic.
