BHP – Brake horse power

This is a term that is used to describe the ability of an engine to produce power under controlled conditions. Brake horse power is the rate at which the engine uses power to do work. BHP is generally observed by the force exercised on a friction brake that is attached to the drive shaft.

BLIS – Blind spot information system

This is a system that allows a driver to notice vehicles in their blind spot through the use of two multiple-beam radar modules. To provide a warning that a vehicle is approaching a driver’s blind spot, the radar identifies it and flips on an indicator light to alert the driver of this invasion. The Blind spot Information System uses an infra-red sensor that triggers a light on inside the car to indicate that another vehicle may be in the drivers blind spot.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG is an automobile manufacturer with its headquarters in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. BSD – Blind spot detection

The blind spot detection system bears a resemblance to the lane changing assistance system and is made up of two radar units. One of the sensors serves as a master system that tells the second unit what to do. This system uses a blind spot detection module to determine if the blind spot is in an abnormal state and then to indicate to the driver if an object or vehicle is in the designated blind spot.
