Five-Star Euro NCAP Safety Rating For 2013 Mazda6

2013 Mazda6 600x397 at Five Star Euro NCAP Safety Rating For 2013 Mazda6

The SKYACTIV-equipped 2013 Mazda6 gets its certificate of safety from the Euro NCAP in form of five golden stars. Both Mazda6 saloon and tourer passed the NCAP test with flying colors,  achieving top scores in most categories.

The five-Star Euro NCAP safety rating for 2013 Mazda6 is due to the car’s long list of conventional safety features, and one unconventional technology, that is the impact-absorbing SKYACTIV-Body. It is, basically, the clever engineering of the body panels that consists of strong panels to protect the occupants, and strategically placed energy-absorbing crumple zones that significantly reduce the force of the impact.

The scores achieved by the all-new Mazda6 were adult occupant protection (92%), child occupant protection (77%), and safety assist systems (81%) – comfortably above the 80%, 60% and 65% thresholds in these categories required to collect a 5-Star rating overall.  The all-new Mazda6 also scored 66% for pedestrian safety, one the best marks in Europe among vehicles tested this year.

The 2013 Mada6 joins the the previous generation Mazda6, the current Mazda3 and the new Mazda CX-5 in the list of the company’s five-star cars. This is also a hint that the new Mazda3, similar to the 6 in may ways, will also be a five-star product.
