Formula E Championship Provisional 2014/15 Calendar

1. The 2014 2015 Provisional FIA Formula E Championship calendar unveiled today 600x424 at Formula E Championship Provisional 2014/15 Calendar

FIA is right on track with the Formula E Championship planning, and they just announced the provisional 2014/1015 calendar with 10 venues, 10 teams and 20 driver. The championship kicks off in Asia, the heads to South and North America, and then comes to Europe before ending in the UK.

The organizers have chosen some exotic places such as the Uruguay’s picturesque beach resort of Punta del Este, the glamorous harbour of Monte Carlo and one of the world’s leading financial centres Hong Kong, while removing places like Rome, Rio de Janeiro and Bangkok for various reasons. They can still be back for the coming Formula E seasons.

For the first season all 10 teams – each with two drivers – will compete using the new Spark-Renault SRT_01E car. All Formula E events will feature a free practice session, qualifying session, one-hour race and live music concert taking place in a single day (Saturday) in order to minimise disruption to the city and its surrounding areas. This, then, will probably be the only kind of motorsport hippies and Greenpeace members will like. Although, the way these people are, they will indeed find something about to complain about.

The finalized calendar will be confirmed during the December FIA World Motor Sport Council.
