Infiniti Q30 600x400 at IAA 2013: Infiniti Q30 Concept

The new Infiniti Q30 Concept has been unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and we finally get to hear it firsthand from Infiniti themselves what it really is. You see, when it was announced the Q30 was supposed to be a hatchback with the dynamism of a coupe and the capabilities of a crossover.

Now that take a closer look, we have to say that apart from the coupe part, the rest of the argument does actually hold water. The car is fairly compact, but it has a large boot which is easily accessible thanks to a hatch. It also has decent ground clearance, an large wheels. A good engine/transmission combo and a four-wheel-drive system, and the Q30 will be able to keep up with the best of the crossover class in the field.

Infiniti Q30 Concept is the design precursor for Infiniti’s future compact premium entry. The fact that they’ve named it Q30, which is one the line with the brand’s new nomenclature, and not something impossible to pronounce shows that they have big plans for this little car.

“We are becoming the younger, trendsetting brand, more relevant and more exciting,” said Johan de Nysschen, President of Infiniti Motor Company, Ltd. “Infiniti Q50, and now the Q30 Concept, deliver on this promise.”
