Not that the standard BMW M5 and M6 are stripped-out track machines – on the contrary, they actually come with too much bells and whistle that make them heavy – but for those who want even more toys at their disposal, BMW announced the launch of a new series of M Performance Accessories.
Available for BMW M5, BMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Convertible and BMW M6 Gran Coupe, the package is prepared with inputs form DTM champion and BMW factory driver, Martin Tomczyk.
As you’d expect, the M Performance Accessories for BMW M5 and M6 are designed to please Bimmer geeks; those who call every model with its manufacturing code and think it’s cool. So obviously, M racing colors stripe is the highlight of the package for the exterior. Less embracing options gloss black grilles, 20-inch M wheels, and new tailpipes belonging to an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system that weighs only 10 kg and helps the twin-turbo V8 engine breath more easily.
Another performance part included in the treatment is a set of carbon ceramic brake discs that are virtually fade-free and therefore suitable for track work.
As for the interior goodies, the stainless steel pedals, carbon fiber trims, leather and Alcantara upholstery, and M floor mats are some of the nice options. There are some nerdy stuff as well, like a gear shift indicator and a G meter.
