It has become a tradition for Mercedes to launch new versions of some of their cars with the Edition 1 model. These cars feature a couple of extras and some fancy colors, and cost a lot more than what you would pay for a normal model. The latest new Merc to get this treatment is the GLA crossover.
The Mercedes GLA Edition 1 celebrates the market launch of the new crossover following its debut at the IAA earlier this year. It is based on the Urban line version, and on the outside it features underguard and roof rails in chrome, bi-xenon headlamps, 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels finished in high-gloss black, a black radiator grille louvre with chrome inserts, black-painted exterior mirrors, black waistline trim strips and dark-tinted glass starting from the B-pillar.
Inside the cabin, and besides the special Desert Dust theme, you get Edition 1 seats upholstered in nut brown leather and Alvorada fabric with striking moccasin stitching, 3-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel in leather, steel pedals, aluminium trim with trapezoidal grain, special floor mats, black roof liner, lots of chrome work.
The Mercedes GLA Edition 1 can be had with all the engines available in the range, including the 115 kW (156 hp) GLA 200, 155 kW (211 hp) GLA 250, 100 kW (136 hp) GLA 200 CDI, and 125 kW (170 hp) GLA 220 CDI. Pricing is yet to be revealed.
