Rolls-Royce already has a four-seater convertible in its range called the Phantom Drophead – Drophead is their fancy way of saying convertible – based on the magnificent Phantom four-door. But that car is too large and too expensive to sell in big numbers. A Drophead version of the new Wraith, however, could be a hit.

Here’s an artist’s impression of what a Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead would be like if it ever gets the green light. It looks like the ultimate boulevard cruiser. Seeing it we can think of nothing else but California.

The Warmth, as you may know, is dubbed the most dynamic Roller ever made. That is like saying the HMS Dragon is the most dynamic battleships ever made, but you get the picture. The car is basically a coupe version of the Ghost, which means it is based on the BMW 7 Series. So this car, in essence, is what a convertible BMW 7er would drive like.

That mechanical bits, including the V12 engine, is all the Wraith shares with the Bimmer. Everything you see and touch is pure Roller, which is to say excessively luxurious and amazing. The Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead is a very intriguing idea which should be turned into reality.
