MINI is not giving their designers and engineers any breather after the launch of the new generation of the iconic British hatchback. They have already come up with the JCW (John Cooper Works) version of the car, set for debut at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS). And these are the first official pictures of the car.

Performance specs of the new MINI John Cooper Works are yet to be revealed, but visually, the car boasts the usual MINI quirkiness in design and paint work. Compared to the standard MINI, the JCW features more aggressively styled bumpers and grilles with red accenting, flared arches, bigger wheels, side skirts, a unique rear wing, rear diffuser, and twin central tailpipes.

The mirror caps and the entire roof, as well as the roof spoiler, are all finished in candy red, which help set off the Bright Highways Grey finish of the body and the special stripes. Since it’s MINI, there will be a million different color combinations you can choose for your car.

Expect the MINI John Cooper Works to come with a meaty turbocharged four-cylinder engine, sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels with high-performance rubber, and a very vividly-styled cabin. The car maybe as understated and as dignified as Miley Cyrus, but it is also as much fun to play with.
