Audi Crossover 0 600x367 at Shooting Brake Audi Crossover Teased Ahead of NAIAS Debut

Along with the new Q1, Audi is bringing another, as yet unnamed, compact crossover vehicle to the 2014 Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS). It’s a sporty compact crossover with a distinctive shooting brake body style, featuring a host of visual elements from future models.

So the car is like an all-in-one Audi in which you get the sporty appearance of an RS hatch, the allroad capabilities of a Quattro SUV, and convenience of a normal sedan. Sounds brilliant, but cars that want to be a lot of things at the same time usually end up being completely hopeless at all of them – a jack of all trades, master of none sort of thing.

The two-door Audi crossover measures 4.20 metres in length and has a coupe-like silhouette complemented with an aggressive front-end featuring an imposing Audi grille and angry-looking headlights. The pronounced horizontal body line and the large 19-inch wheels emphasise the impression of concentrated energy, according to Audi.

Unlike the Q1, this Audi crossover has not been confirmed for production yet, and it probably never will be. What it can do is affect the styling of future crossover models. If the next Q3 looks even half as good as this car it’ll be brilliant.
