This year Audi R8 has become the darling of the teams competing TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, as five teams, including the famous Flying Lizards, opt for the new GTD race car. Backed by Audi Sport customer-racing, the teams have confirmed their driver lineup for the Rolex 24 hour debut race at Daytona on January 25.

Fall-Line Motorsports, Flying Lizard Motorsports, GMG Racing and Paul Miller Racing will make up the five-car R8 LMS line-up sporting new liveries. Preparation for the 2014 season began in November and will continue over the next couple of weeks in the run up to the Daytona race. The R8 is of course is no stranger to this place, having won last year’s race in its second running at the legendary event.

For the past few years, or decade to be more precise, Audi has been at the top of endurance racing tree in both Europe and America. Part of it is due to the superb job the Audi Sport customer racing department is doing is supporting private teams.
