At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show Skoda will present a lineup of new and refreshed production models, among them a new gas-powered hybrid version of the Octavia called the G-TEC. Available in sedan or the popular Comi estate form, this car is the ultimate family wagon with lots of space, and a staggeringly good range.

The Skoda Octavia G-TEC is powered by a 1.4 TSI/81 kW for-cylinder petrol engine that is converted so it can also run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). In petrol mode, the car has an excellent range of 920 km, while running on gas it can manage 420 km.

That means with two full tanks, and with fuel consumption of 5.4 m3 (3.5 kg) natural gas per 100 km (CO2 emissions of just 97 g/km), you can cover a distance of 1,330 kilometer. You are going to forget what fuel stations look like.

Skoda Octavia G-TEC will be joined by the special edition Laurin & Klement, and the Scout versions of the Octavia at the Geneva Motor Show. The Czech car maker’s lineup also include five new Monte Carlo special editions.
