We have been teased a number of times with the specs and technical details of the new Civic Type-R. But this is the first time Honda is showing us a glimpse of what the car actually looks like. And boy does it look good.

The teaser picture they released to confirm the debut of the car at this year’s Geneva Motor Show reveals only the back of the car, but that is enough to get our engines revving. The new Honda Civic Type-R appears to have a decidedly Japanese design, but that’s not a bad thing, as it gives the car a unique character.

The new Type-R still sports a massive rear wing, like the previous generation, which blocks your rear view. This time it’s worse actually, because it’s a double wing, which also incorporates the rear lights, so you can’t get rid of it. There is also a sexy new diffuser with four tailpipes and massively flared wheel arches that give the car a muscular look.

Now, what you see here is not the actual production version of the new Honda Civic Type-R. It is the concept version designed for the Geneva show. But if the real thing looks even 70 percent like this, it’s going to be fine with us; especially as the car’s going to have a turbocharged engine with at least 280 horsepower and a manual gearbox.
