maserati alfieri production render 600x337 at Maserati Alfieri Rendered in Production Trim

At this year’s Geneva Motor Show Maserati unveiled a stunning new concept called Alfieri, named after one of Maserati brothers who founded the company. Since then everybody in the auto world is bugging Maserati to put this concept in production, and this new rendering of the car as a production model shows why.

We used to marvel at the beauty of the Jaguar F-Type, and amazed by the fact that they actually could make a beautiful car, what with all the restricting rules and regulations that govern the design of new cars these days. Maserati Alfieri blows the Jag clean out of the water in terms of passionate styling and wonderful little details that make the car a work of art.

Shorter and lighter than a Gran Turismo, Maserati Alfieri could be the sports car the GT never was. The concept car was powered by the standard 4.7 liter naturally aspirated V8 out of the Turismo with 460 horsepower, and had its transaxle drivetrain as well. The car is virtually production-ready. All it needs is a push.

If they decide to go through with it, the exterior of the production Maserati Alfieri would remain pretty much intact over the concept, but the interior will probably change completely. The minimalistic design of the concept’s cabin is way too fancy for a real car.
