Opel/Vauxhall confirmed the debut of a range-topping, high-performance version of the Adam city car at the Geneva Motor Show. Dubbed Adam S, the little hot hatch boasts a 1.4-litre Turbo ECOTEC engine with 150 horsepower, and features OPC/VXR goodies.

Visually, the Opel Adam S features what they refer to as ‘Red ’n Roll’ styling. It consists of a red body with an anthracite grey roof, while rear spoiler, the grille brand bar and door mirror caps feature a sporty carbon-look. It also gets front lip spoiler, side sill moldings, and larger tailpipes.

The cabin is also styled in the same theme, with Recaro Performance seats in Morrocana and leather, red leather-trimmed steering wheel, gearshift and handbrake as well as distinctive red and white flashes on the instrument and door panels.

The meat of Opel Adam S package, though, is the 150 PS and 220 Nm engine, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, sports-tuned suspension and OPC braking system. There is also a sport exhaust system that sings to you all the way up to 137 mph, which is the top speed of this car.

Opel Adam S is a close-to-production concept for now, but a production version is in the works and it will be fully-loaded with features like LED daytime running and rear tail lights, electronic climate control, as well as an infotainment system with advanced smartphone integration.
